AP has called Kansas for Trump. Still no changes in the map from 2016 … not that anyone was expected Kansas to suddenly go blue.
CNN notes that only about a third of the early vote in Pennsylvania has been tallied so far. But since that’s about equal the total percentage, it’s not as reassuring as it might be.
AP calls Missouri for Trump.
CNN is projecting New Hampshire for Biden, but that’s not an official call from AP.
CNN just now projecting Biden’s win in IL, which was called better than two hours ago. The state level calls from all the news media this year have been bizarre.
Looking at the county level, and just checking the counties that have more reported a high percentage, Biden looks better than it seems in Wisconsin, despite where the numbers are at the moment. This doesn’t seem to be the case in Michigan, where the county level numbers are often worse than those of Clinton.
However, it seems that Michigan has not counted early ballots / mail in ballots early, so it may be one of the few states where Biden gets the late surge.
The West Coast states are now included in Biden’s total — California, Oregon, and Washington. That brings his current electoral total to a tantalizing 209. 61 votes don’t seem like they should be that hard to find, and yet ...
It’s looking as if Biden may pick up an electoral vote in Nebraska by winning in congressional district 2.
As the night has gone on, both North Carolina and Ohio had continued to trend toward Trump. Apparently, even though many of the outstanding votes were still in “blue” counties, the fact that early votes had been already been tallied at some earlier point in the evening deflated any possible advantage.
