Delaware Senate: This is more down-in-the-weeds than usual, but apparently Sarah McBride has won a race in the Delaware Senate, making McBride the nation’s first trans state senator.

NC-Sen, NC-Gov: In the Tar Heel State, with 3.2 million votes counted (probably past the halfway point), Democrat Cal Cunningham leads GOP incumbent Thom Tillis 52-44 in the Senate race. Democratic incumbent Roy Cooper leads Dan Forest 56-43 in the gubernatorial race (based on 3.3 million votes).

NC-11: In the presidentially red 11th district in the state’s mountainous west, there’s an open seat, and Republican Madison Cawthorn leads Democrat Moe Davis only 51-46 with 370k votes counted.

NC-02: This race is “Safe Democratic,” but it would be a pickup because of North Carolina’s mid-decade redistricting. Democratic candidate Deborah Ross is winning easily here, 66-32 (based on a sizable 423k votes).

NC-06: The other near-guaranteed pickup in North Carolina, the 6th district (also because of the redistricting), is also performing like the 2nd: Democratic candidate Kathy Manning leads 64-36 with 345k votes counted.

NJ-02: The tossup race on the South Jersey shore is, indeed, a tossup, with Democratic candidate Amy Kennedy leading Republican party switcher Jeff Van Drew 49.4-48.9, with 184k votes racked up. (These results might overweight blue-ish Atlantic County a bit, though.)

NC-08: The 8th district in central North Carolina is “Lean Republican” in our ratings but saw a lot of last-minute spending, and here’s why: Republican incumbent Richard Hudson leads Democrat Pat Timmons-Goodson only 50.3-49.7 with 219k votes counted.

FL-15: We’ve got an AP call in Florida’s 15th district, a longshot race that we rated Likely Republican. Republican Scott Franklin (who defeated Republican incumbent Ross Spano in the primary) is the winner.

Closings: We now have closings in states including Arizona, Colorado, the western portion of Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, the western portion of Texas, and Wisconsin.

TX-Sen: While we don’t have an AP call here yet, ABC is projecting that GOP incumbent John Cornyn will prevail in Texas. He’s winning by only 2.5%, with 7 million votes counted, a bit closer than the polls suggested.

IN-05: In the Tossup race in Indiana’s 5th district in Indianapolis’s northern suburbs, things are super close: Republican Victoria Spartz leads 49-48 over Christina Hale with 241k votes reported, though that’s with a lot of Marion County (the Indianapolis portion of the district) outstanding.
